How to Find Our Special Hotel

Arrive by Car   Bus   High Speed Train (AVE)   Air

By Car:  If you are driving to Écija, you easiest reference points are Seville or Cordoba.  Highways are clearly marked and you enter Écija from opposite ends of the city depending on whether you arrive from Seville or Cordoba.

Either way, once you arrive in Écija, you will want to look for Avda. Miguel de Cervantes which is the main commercial street leading to the town's main plaza.

Note: the plaza is currently walled-off to facilitate the excavation of the ancient Roman Forum and Arab Cemetery. Therefore, it is not really obvious from the street that it is the main plaza - its just a wall that prevents you from driving further.

One block before you get to the plaza, you will see a street on the right-hand side called 'Emilio Casterar'.   Turn here and continue past the post office and the 'Palacio de Peña Flor' until you reach number 42 which is our hotel.

You should be able to park in the 'standing area' in front of the hotel while you check-in.  If you have arranged for parking - the manager on duty will give you instructions to our near-by parking lot.

There is a 'short-cut' if you are arriving from Cordoba, but its a little complicated - so its best if the manager explains it after you arrive...

By Bus: There is bus service from Madrid, Cordoba or Seville to Écija.

From Madrid: There is a bus company called Socibus that has daily service from the Southern Bus Terminal.  The bus terminal is at the metro stop  'Méndez Alvaro' which is on the #6-Circular Line.  You can easily check the schedule at www.socibus.es .

Bus tickets should be purchased in advance since all seats are reserved.  There is plenty of space for luggage on the luxury coach.  The fare is approximately $15 and the trip takes about five hours (including a 'rest stop' about half way).  The trip is very scenic and comfortable.

Make sure you advise the driver to let you know when you arrive in Écija. The bus stops at the opposite end of Ave. Miguel de Cervantes from the Plaza.

There are no taxi's available at the bus stop in Écija - so if you have luggage or don't want to walk, please advise the staff at 'Palacio de los Granados' what time you will be arriving and they can arrange a taxi to meet you.

If you choose to walk, it is a pleasant 15 - 20 minute walk - walking down Avda. Miguel de Cervantes until you find 'Emilio Castelar' on the right just before the Plaza.  Follow 'Emilio Castelar' past the Post Office and the 'Palacio de Peña Flor' and continue until you reach #42 which is our hotel.

If you want to use the same bus to return to Madrid, please make arrangements with the manager on duty at the hotel.  The bus will not normally stop in Écija if there are no passengers for this stop.

From Cordoba or Seville:  These are local buses whose schedule changes very frequently.  It is best to check at the bus station in each city for the current schedule.   Most of these buses will leave you at the main Plaza where you can find a taxi - or follow the above directions to find the hotel.

If you would like to take these local buses to make a day trip to explore Seville or Cordoba - your manager-on-duty at 'Palacio de los Granados' can assist you with schedules, pick-up locations, etc.

By Train:  The fastest way to arrive to Ecija from Madrid is to take the high speed 'AVE' train from Madrid.

This is a luxury train with tourist, preferred and club classes which only takes 1:40 hr from Madrid to Cordoba.  The fare is approximately $40 - $90 depending on which train and which class of service you choose.

Once you arrive in Cordoba, you can take a taxi to Écija for less than $50.  If you advise 'Palacio de los Granados' what time you will arrive in Cordoba, we can arrange for a taxi driver to meet you at the station and bring you directly to the hotel.

If you decide to take the train to Seville, a taxi will cost slightly more - perhaps $60.  Advise the hotel of your travel details, and we can help you arrange a taxi to bring you to Écija.

For more information, check the web site of the Spanish Train System http://www.renfe.es/empresa/ave/ .

By Air:  The Seville airport or the Cordoba airport are both convenient arrival points for Écija.

Once you arrive in Cordoba, you can take a taxi to Ecija for less than $50.  If you advise 'Palacio de los Granados' what time you will arrive in Cordoba, we can arrange for a taxi driver to meet you at the airport and bring you directly to the hotel.

If you arrive at the airport in Seville, a taxi will cost slightly less - since the airport is between Seville and Ecija.  Advise the hotel of your travel details, and we can help you arrange a taxi to meet you at the Seville airport and bring you to Écija.
